Will stopping immigration cause labor shortages?
Yes, stopping or sharply curtailing immigration is likely to cause or worsen labor shortages in many sectors, particularly in the short-to-medium term, though effects vary by industry, skill level, country, and the speed/completeness of the stoppage. This conclusion draws from demographic trends, workforce composition data, economic studies, and recent real-world evidence from immigration slowdowns.
